While many large companies are starting to build bigger data centers, most small to medium-sized businesses can’t afford to do that. Rather than trying to compete, data center hosting lets your company store information and have your customers connect to servers in a remote location. In these locations, things are better maintained than they would be in-house.

With the average cost of a data breach now somewhere around £3 million, you can’t afford to let go of your critical information. Build Blog – Build Room 1 Update

Our last official Build Blog entry was in July 2015, shortly after the soft-opening of our facility to existing clients. That was nearly 18 months ago, and it’s fair to say that the facility has evolved fairly extensively since then.

Anyone that knows our data centres will understand our obsession with quality and progression, which permeates everything we design and build here at Netwise. As much as the build room for Data Hall 1 functioned perfectly well, it’s fair to say that we are not huge fans of plain white rooms. The inclusion of the sound system in September was of course a welcome addition, however the space was still lacking some imagination.

Build Room 1 now adheres to our new technical design direction, which will follow suit in Data Hall 1 in 2017. The space has 360 degree wrap-around checker plate cladding, and a newly inviting entrance to Data Hall 1 – giving a greater indication that you are entering the primary technical space inside of the facility.

Why choose London colocation?

Sometimes, you may ask yourself what the driving factor behind the critical importance of London as a colocation centre really is. After all, why not look into colocation options outside of the city, in the surrounding counties, or even further afar in a secondary market such as Manchester?

How many data centre operators do you know that offer clients fully integrated sound systems in their build rooms? We’re willing to bet that our London Central facility is the first.

Audio System

Put down those headphones – enjoy high-fidelity audio playback in our build rooms, with wall-mounted inputs which feed into ceiling speakers. After all, why does working in a data centre for hours on end have to be a boring experience?

Over the coming months, these systems will be fitted to additional customer-facing areas in the data centre, including the customer kitchen and customer lounge. Further to this, not only will you be able to plug in your own devices via jack or phono, we’ll also have a global library that you can access via our Spotify account. The building-wide system will also function as our internal public address system, for any critical announcements.
