London Central Build Blog – Week 11

Week 11 has seen further decommissioning of our Sutton site, along with fantastic developments at our new London Central facility. The offices were properly unpacked this week, allowing the Bermondsey site head quarters to come online. There is still a way to go until they are exactly as we want them (those that know our team will know that we take great pride in making our offices as personal / identifiable as possible), but they are well on their way to becoming our new home.

London Central Build Blog – Week 10

The 10 week milestone has seen exciting changes to the Bermondsey site, with a refreshed staff kitchen, installation of both the glass partitioning system for the board room and the racking in the ground floor storage area.

London Central Build Blog – Week 9

Week 9 has seen some more of the Sutton data centre decommissioned ahead of its closure, as well as the extension of our systems in Docklands. The Docklands facilities we use help form part of our global network, giving us access to carriers and connectivity. By operating our own rack space in other key London locations, we are able to maintain end-to-end control over our systems.

The on-site storage facility at our new data centre has also seen advancements this week, with flooring reaching completion ahead of storage rack assembly.

As you can see, this week has seen a division of work across 3 sites, making for a very busy period in terms of physical work and planning / orchestration.

London Central Build Blog – Week 8

This week has seen extensive planning for the data floor works to begin in earnest. There have also been finalisations made to the cabling infrastructure feeding the office, as well as preparation works on the core services room ready for cable runs to begin on the network. Because much of the work at the London Central facility has been hidden from view, there are no worthy progress photos for this week, bar one shot showing the flooring in the large ground floor storage area reaching completion.

One area of interest is the secondary team decommissioning the London South (Sutton) facility. The office space has seen a transformation back to its post-refurbished empty state. We took great pride in the building of our Sutton facility, and it is saddening to see it decommissioned, however we are moving on to far bigger and better things in Bermondsey.

We will have some further pictorial updates for you in the coming weeks.
