A Quick Update from The New Facility

By the end of next week (Friday 1st July) the primary build work will be complete, meaning the facility is almost ready for the second phase of development. The remodelling of the internal structure has been a long-winded affair, but is now coming together as expected – and on time. The extensive soundproofing and data centre shell construction will be in place within the next few days, meaning the facility is tantalisingly close to occupancy.

The next phase will consist of running all of our new technology services into the building, including power, communications, fire and security. This will be followed closely by the installation of hardware at the new site, alongside the completion of our new office space. This highly bespoke colocation facility is becoming a very exciting place to see develop; day by day getting more and more impressive. We expect our demanding colocation customers to be overwhelmed with just how well suited this new site is to their needs. We hope to have some photographs up in due course.

We will be holding our first facility tours soon, so ensure you check back for details – or book on our website now.

Gearing Up for Launch of the New Facility

Group HouseAs many of our closest stakeholders and clients will already know, Netwise Hosting have been designing and building a new data centre facility in London. This comes as a direct response to our ever increasing client base, and our growing demands of what we now require from a facility. As always our dedication to this project has remained unfettered, with the lengthy time scales a true illustration of our commitment to producing a world-class data centre.

The good news is that work is almost complete at the new site, and equipment will soon be entering the new building. Our final launch proposal documentation is in its final stages, making this a very exciting time for all of the team here at Netwise Hosting. We are hoping for an impressive launch, and would love for our customers to be a part of the ongoing success. Tours of the new facility can be booked through the website directly. (Please bear in mind that images currently available on the ‘Our Data Centre’ page are temporary photographs taken of our current facility, and will be changed for professional shots of the new facility soon).

The new facility – situated just a few miles from our current location – offers users a truely bespoke private London data centre, bringing together our mantra of “Speed, Security, Stability” at levels of uncompromised value.

Colocation services are becoming a far larger part of our business, with our new facility lending itself perfectly to those searching for a colocator in line with their exacting requirements. Colocation in London is becoming an expensive luxury for many businesses. We hope to push against the grain, and allow businesses to reinstate the hub of their technological requirements within the financial capital of the world – without breaking the bank.

As we get ever closer to the launch date (which is as yet unconfirmed – this will be solidified soon), we will publish more comprehensive technical information for your digestion.

Naturally, if you are interested in obtaining more detailed information regarding our move, please do not hesitate to contact us directly. We are more than happy to help. Enquiries about colocating with us in the future are also very welcome, and can be disussed with us in detail.

In the mean time, we are still offering our enterprise-level dedicated server packages and our ever popular online backup solutions.

Google’s Panda Update Reaches the UK

Google PandaGoogle’s ‘Panda’ update is the search giants latest algorithm alteration, which was bought into action in the US to tackle data farming and poor link building. First launched in February, the update has now reached the UK, and is causing a fair amount of controversy thanks to its dramatic and sudden effect on page ranking for many notable sites.

To browse through some of the current winners and losers resulting from the change, click here.

Google’s intentions may well have been in favor of the searcher, but have undoubtedly effected many large sites negatively – and for no good reason. Some of the sites now making complaints have noted that they only publish original and relevant content, yet are still heavily penalised by the new algorithm. It will be very interesting to see where the results will settle over the coming months, particularly as more companies begin to question the validity of the changes.

One factor causing major concern for many malefactors of the new algorithm is the positive impact the changes have had on Google’s own subsidaries, such as Youtube. It could be argued that this is simply because they, as owned or part-owned subsidiaries, understand exactly how to work with Google’s indexing requirements. However, many are beginning to shift towards the opinion of subtle sabotage – amplified by the negative effects felt by many large competitors owned by the likes of Microsoft. If one thing can be said for certain, it is that heavy-hitters like Microsoft will not sit back quietly and allow their page rankings to slip. With Ciao.co.uk (Microsoft’s large online shopping portal) having lost -93.83% of their Google traffic, there is no doubt that changes still need to be made, whether that be at Google’s end, or at the end of those effected.

It should be noted that the changes are ongoing, and will settle over time.

Ultimate Dedicated Server Review

We always welcome reviews here at Netwise Hosting. Naturally, many of our reviews end up out on the world wide web, on forums and chatrooms where they can be accessed by the community at large. However on occasion we are contacted directly by clients who wish to offer a little deeper insight into their experiences with us. These will often be summarised into short service testimonials which can be found on our main website. Yet recently we received a slighty more acute review of our Ultimate Dedicated Server system hardware, which we would like to share on our blog with our readers.

I required a dedicated server for my business, and after plenty of searching online for affordable UK hosting providers, I came across your service [Netwise Hosting]. I required a fairly powerful system, as I deploy applications across the net and host a number of high-traffic sites. The 50% offer made it highly attractive to go straight for the Ultimate Dedicated Server, as this would allow for expansion in the future.

Having dealt with [other hosts] in the past, I have noticed some hardware imbalance. My [last] server had been loaded up with plenty of RAM, but did not come up to scratch in terms of processing power. The bottlenecking became a real problem, and basic functions would backlog until the server would slow to a snails pace.

The most impressive thing about the Ultimate Dedicated Server is its balanced performance. It would have been easy to stick way too much cheap RAM in, yet its balanced set of hardware works perfectly. My new server has run very smoothly from the offset. Its very rare that I can say I have experienced no problems with an online service, but I really can not think of any thus far with Netwise. I look forward to expanding my business with [Netwise Hosting] in the near future

We would like to thank Robert Calloway for his glowing review, and naturally we would like to hear from more satisfied customers. Netwise Hosting strive to provide only the most robust of servers, which we hope shows itself tangibly in our success record to date.
